"Man of the People"
Unique wall art dedicated to former Liverpool FC manager, Bill Shankly. As he didn’t wear glasses, Paul chose to put the memory of 1960/70’s Anfield in Bill’s tie. Known for having a loving relationship with the fans, it was only fitting to choose the Kop stand as Bill’s highlight.
The picture is designed on 4mm toughened safety glass, with hand-crafted lead accents featured around Bill Shankly’s tie to create a 3D effect. The piece doesn’t require a frame and all the fixings are hidden behind to give it a floating look on your wall.
Who is Bill Shankly?
William ‘Bill’ Shankly was a Scottish footballer and manager best known for his time with Liverpool. Upon arriving in Liverpool in 1959 he declared Anfield to be “the biggest dump in Liverpool” and set about to revolutionise how the club operates. The success Liverpool has had since that period can be attributed to Bill Shankly’s influence on the club and the city. Adored by the red half of Liverpool, Shankly was honoured by the Kop after his death with a flag reading ‘Shankly lives forever’.
